Aquatic Invasive Species
Aquatic weeds have spread to cover over 90% of the Tahoe Keys lagoons — spanning 172 acres of waterways. The 2015 Lake Tahoe AIS Implementation Plan lists the Tahoe Keys lagoons as the highest priority area for control.
TKPOA has developed an Integrated Aquatic Weed Management Plan (IMP) in partnership with TRPA (Tahoe Region Planning Agency) and the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board. The Controlled Methods Test (CMT) is currently underway to study the use of aquatic herbicides.

Environmental Stewardship
TKPOA is actively participating in several local, basin-wide environmental committees and task groups. We work with TRPA (Tahoe Region Planning Agency), TRCD (Tahoe Resource Conservation District), and The League to Save Lake Tahoe's "Eyes of the Lake" program.
Our stewardship initiatives span landscaping, water conservation, wildlife protection, and community outreach — all aimed at preserving the outstanding natural beauty of Lake Tahoe for generations to come.
